Your orthodontist in Carnegie
Dr. Sohn's philosophy is to treat each patient as a unique individual. She will develop an individualized treatment plan using the most innovative and proven techniques available. She also believes in communicating openly and honestly with a patient's questions.
Dr. Sohn first earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Pennsylvania before earning her doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. To become an orthodontist, Dr. Sohn completed her specialty certificate in orthodontics and a Masters of Science in dental medicine from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.
Why an Orthodontist in Carnegie? Orthodontist vs. Dentist
An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an orthodontist. Not every dentist is qualified to be an orthodontist, but every orthodontist starts as a dentist. Like all orthodontists, Dr. Sohn had to continue her formal education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the license and certification. Dr. Sohn has spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth, as have all Orthodontists. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the treatment plan.
Invisalign in Carnegie
Rather than brackets and bands, the Carnegie Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move the teeth into alignment. This option is popular with both patients and orthodontists and is currently the top alternative to traditional braces.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and designed to fit snugly over the patient's teeth. The trays are virtually invisible, and you'll switch them every 1-2 weeks for the next series to keep your teeth moving in the right direction! You must wear your aligners 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment so they can do their job. Patients who neglect to wear their aligners as directed can hurt the results and add time to the orthodontic process.
Braces in Carnegie
Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. Braces in Carnegie are an excellent choice for correcting many tooth issues, from simple to complex. Braces don't require some more complicated technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can. This makes Carnegie, 0, braces a cost-effective orthodontic option for patients on a budget. Also, because they sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options might, overall treatment time can be shorter.
Testimonials from Carnegie orthodontist patients
My daughter needed braces two years ago. We were starting our journey down this route by scheduling consultations. Sohn Orthodontics was our first & only consultation. We walked out of the office & my daughter said she didn't want to go to any other offices. She wanted to work with Sohn Orthodontics. Since then, my daughter has worn her braces & just last week had them removed. She's in the retainer phase & her teeth are beautiful. This office is fantastic. They are a group of caring women who are there to help us with every question we had along the way. If my daughter was having a problem, they fit her in the same day to assist & resolve the issue. This office will always be my top referral to anyone that needs an orthodontist. - Jamie
Dr. Sohn and her staff are amazing. I've been to many orthodontists in the past, and she was the first to suggest surgery for a bite problem that braces alone could not correct. I am so thankful I finally went to her. I've now had surgery and braces are removed, and my smile is fantastic. I could not be more pleased. She is a very knowledgeable physician whom I would recommend to everyone. - Alicia
